Chicken and Steak Marinade

























With my husband's family coming from Paraguay Barbeques are a common occurance (called Asado) when you have company. A lot of people have large cattle ranches so steak is plentiful. Here for us it is a treat. I hope that you like the recipes. We have and so has our company.
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 large garlic clove, minced
  • 3 tablespoons vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons soya sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon salt or seasoned salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • dash or 2 of onion powder
Marinade steak or chicken a minimum of 2 hours or overnight.
Good for 6-8 sirlion steak or chicken breasts or legs.

  1. Say, I've been looking for a good marinade with a bit of 'kick' That looks good. Something I have never known...where does one find liquid smoke? Do tell. Anyway...that is yummy and goes so well with the potatoes and yams. Great shots! I am trying this this weekend for sure. Thanks Charlotte.

  2. you find liquid smoke in the same isle with worchestire sauce and the like. it comes in a similiar shaped bottle too...there is hickory and mesquite....whichever you choose is fine.
