Bread for the Journey

I've had several opportunities to see the land below me in these last few months.
Travelling for book signings is a privilege that I appreciate and every time I fly I see God's mighty hand in the world he created.

When I see the beauty beneath my I am in awe of our Lord God who made it all.

The lush fields
and the beauty of the mountain peaks...

the beauty of the ocean
and the dry and sculpted land.

I read this passage in several different versions and settled on offering you the verses in The Message. Read it with me and then join me in the call to worship God!

Come, let's shout praises to God,
raise the roof for the Rock who saved us!
Let's march into his presence singing praises,
lifting the rafters with our hymns!

And why?
Because God is the best,
High King over all the gods.
In one hand he holds deep caves and caverns,
in the other hand grasps the high mountains.
He made the Ocean ~ he owns it!
His hand sculpted Earth!

So come, let us worship: bow before him,
on your knees before God, who made us!

Psalm 95:1-7

  1. Nothing like a bird's eye view to gain some perspective on the handiwork of God. I have always been amazed by the quilt like aspects of the plains, which I have very much enjoyed seeing here again. He certainly deserves all praise, honor, and glory!

  4. We recently flew to and from China. I was terribly afraid to fly and the majority of the trip I was not in a window seat. However, on our connecting flight from Los Angeles California to Minneapolis MN I sat and watched as we flew over this great country. What an amazing view and I was mesmerized by all I could see even in the dark. We were blessed with no clouds so we could see everything and watching the sun rise and lightening from above the thunderstorm was just amazing. In a plane full of sleeping passengers my eyes were wide open in amazement. Just awesome!
