Bread for the Journey

One of the worship songs that always tugs at my heart when we sing it, is Love Came Down by Ben Cantelon. It reminds me of the first Bible Verse I ever memorized as a child that I actually kind of liked . . . and looking back now, I can see I've tried it and have found it to be true.

When I call on Your Name, You answer
When I fall, You are there by my side
You delivered me out of darkness
Now I stand in the hope of new life

By grace I’m free
You’ve rescued me
All I am is Yours

I’ve found a love greater than life itself
I’ve found a hope stronger and nothing compares
I once was lost, now I’m alive in You

You’re my God and my firm foundation
It is You whom I’ll trust at all times
I give glory and praise, adoration
To my Saviour who’s seated on high

Love came down and rescued me
I thank You, I thank You
I once was blind but now I see
I see You, I see You.

I love the way a sweet little missionary lady I know (the mother Teresa kind) shares God's phone number with anyone she can. "Do you know it?"she asks, "It's Jeremiah 29:12"

  1. Ben Cantelon was in my primary Sunday School class when he was six and seven years old.
The song is beautiful, thank you for sharing the lyrics this morning.
And I'll be dialing God's number too - I love that He always answers on the first ring!
