Bread for the Journey




This week, while we remember the price paid for the freedom 
we enjoy in this land,
we can't help but also remember the sacrifice
paid for the ultimate gift of peace in our heart.

Jesus said:
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. 
I do not give to you as the world gives. 
Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
John 14:27

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, 
with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, 
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:7

 Lord, today 
with thanksgiving for Your love and power,
we present our requests to You for help 
in the working out for Your good in our life.
We  give you the things that put fear and worry into our very being, 
and we ask You for this unbelievable peace
that is able to guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Amen
