Tropical Sandwich

This is a delicious sandwich for a quick lunch. And another easy way to use up ham left over from Sunday dinner.
  • 1 slice french bread toasted
  • 1 slice pineapple
  • 1 slice ham
  • 1 slice cheese.. you can use grated cheese
  • 1 slice green pepper
  • mayo
  • dijon mustard
  1. Toast bread and spread with mayo and mustard to taste.
  2. Top with pineapple, ham and cheese.
  3. Place a slice of green pepper on top of the sandwich. It adds a nice crunch and looks pretty.
  4. Broil in oven for approx 5 min or until the cheese is melted.
  5. Serves 1.

  1. Great picture Betty.
The first time I had this kind of sandwich was as a teenager when I was in germany, and my cousin called it hawaiin toast...so good, I haven't had it in a long time. A good idea when you are out of ideas:)

  2. Reminds me of a ham and pineapple pizza! Always good to have new/quick lunch ideas.

  3. I made these in Girl Scouts, wrapped in foil and baked. nice memory. I made a double batch of Platz today using up some plums. Did you used to have a "print recipe" feature before your recent blog change? can this be brought back?
