This is a delicious open face sandwich for a quick lunch. And an easy way to use up leftover ham.
- 1 slice french bread, toasted
- 1 slice pineapple
- 1 slice ham
- 1 slice cheese
- 1 slice green pepper
- Mayonnaise, to taste
- Dijon mustard, to taste
- Toast bread and spread with mayonnaise and mustard to taste.
- Top with pineapple, ham, and cheese.
- Place a slice of green pepper on top of the sandwich. It adds a nice crunch and looks pretty.
- Broil in oven for approx 5 minutes or until cheese is melted.
- Serves: 1
Great picture Betty.
ReplyDeleteThe first time I had this kind of sandwich was as a teenager when I was in germany, and my cousin called it hawaiin toast...so good, I haven't had it in a long time. A good idea when you are out of ideas:)
Reminds me of a ham and pineapple pizza! Always good to have new/quick lunch ideas.
ReplyDeleteI made these in Girl Scouts, wrapped in foil and baked. nice memory. I made a double batch of Platz today using up some plums. Did you used to have a "print recipe" feature before your recent blog change? can this be brought back?
ReplyDeleteBetty this looks perfect for summer!
