Curry Beef

The typical teenager that opens the fridge and pantry and says that there is NOTHING TO EAT, nothing but condiments.
Well let me tell you what all those condiments can make for supper.

I used the following:
  • 1-lb. thinly sliced beef
  • 1 onion halved and thinly sliced
  • peppers.....what ever you have on hand, this time it was 1 red pepper 1 yellow pepper
  • 1 c. of snow peas (I didn't have any this time)
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 can coconut milk
  • 2 tbsp. soya sauce
  • 1/4 c. sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp. curry
  • 1 tbsp. chili powder
  • 2 tsp. cumin
  1. Quickly stir fry the beef, remove from pan.
  2. Add the veggies and stir fry.
  3. Add all the spices.
  4. Add the coconut milk, soy sauce and chili sauce.
  5. Mix everything together and heat through.
  6. Serve over brown rice and more stir fried veggies!
This is such a versatile dish, you can use turkey or chicken and any veggies that you have on hand. Have fun, be creative. You can't make a mistake, so go for it!

  1. Now you are cooking Char! Grin...condiments! This looks pretty good for putting together condiments. More and more people are looking for ways to use up what they have, ideas to keep it simple...AND inexpensive. Good post there ... and did your teenager stand there and watch..or help make it?! Grin... These typical 'curry' items should be a 'stock' item in our pantry for sure! AND....love that cumin!

  5. This was marvelous! We gobbled it up. Whenever I make a new recipe, I ask my family the same question: How soon do you want this again? My husband said, "Now." The kids loved it too.

This is a true keeper and is destined to be a new family favorite!

  6. I browse through your site to make my weekly menu list. Last week this recipe was on my list and I had to tell you that my family reacted very much like the previous comment. It is a make again meal, and is back on for this weeks menu at my husbands oldest two sons request. Karin
