Oh sing to the Lord a new song,
for he has done marvelous things!
His right hand and his holy arm
have worked salvation for him.
The Lord has made known his salvation;
he has revealed his righteousness in the sight of the nations.
He has remembered his steadfast love and faithfulness
to the house of Israel.
All the ends of the earth have seen

As I read the first verse about singing a new song I wondered what it meant, does it just mean to sing a new song that you haven't heard before or does it mean more? To me it speaks of letting go of/forgetting negative thoughts/deeds from the past and starting fresh, being joyful and praising Him for all the marvelous things He has done for me.
That is my new song that I am singing to the Lord.

ReplyDeleteA new song might be one carried in a repentant heart after baptism or after taking the sacrament or after prayer and sincere repentance. The Lord always wants us to strive to be perfect in as many ways as we can manage. He wants us to see life as our greatest opportunity to test all that he has promised and to follow every path he took.
