Chocolate Chip Oreo Cookies

These cookies will please anybody who loves chocolate! And I'm sure they would be a hit with the little ones to find a surprise in the center of the cookies. This is the recipe my grandson uses when he bakes chocolate chip cookies.
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 package mini oreo cookies
  1. Cream together softened butter and sugars.
  2. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix well.
  3. In another bowl mix together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Combine the dry and wet ingredients until well blended.
  5. Chill dough for 15 minutes.
  6. Take a ball of dough, place a mini oreo in the middle and form the dough around it. You won't use all the oreos from the package but I'm sure someone would be willing to eat the leftovers.
  7. Place the cookie balls on a parchment lined pan.
  8. Bake in a 350ยบ oven for 10 minutes.

  3. I tried a similar recipe from another blog but they used regular sized Oreos....WAY TOO MUCH cookie. This is a much better idea....I forget they make mini's. I don't spend much time on that aisle in the store....but our girls do love them. Have you tried the Peanut Butter Oreo's? One of our daughters brought those home the other day. I bet even cutting them in half would be enough to stuff inside some yummy chocolate chip dough.

  4. My daughter is leading a tutoring session for these precious, troubled boys from a shelter every Thursday at her church. I make the cookies for these attention starved boys. I'll be taking these next Thursday. Keep this little group and their tutors in your prayers.

  5. Just the cookie you need when you're not sure what you want...a sandwich cookie or chocolate chip. ;) I've seen this done GF, but never regular. Great job!
