But God hath promised strength for the day, Rest for the labor, light for the way, Grace for the trials, help from above, Unfailing sympathy, undying love.
God hath not promised we shall not know Toil and temptation, trouble and woe; He hath not told us we shall not bear Many a burden, many a care.
God hath not promised smooth roads and wide, Swift, easy travel, needing no guide; Never a mountain, rocky and steep, Never a river, turbid and deep. Author: Annie Johnson Flint |

Amen! Amen! This past week we laid to rest my father-in-law who is in heaven rejoicing with a new body free from Alzheimer's. During this last month, I was again reminded that God is my ROCK, that He gives peace, grace, and strength as we walk through these deep valleys.
ReplyDeleteYay! Love this Betty! So true!
ReplyDeleteI haven't thought of that old hymn for such a long time and am so glad you reminded us of it. It's an old song but the words still ring true today. I'm so glad we are not burdened with the whole of our life at once but that God reveals only one step at a time and that He walks with alongside us along the way.
