Caramel Apple Dip

I was at an open-house recently where a huge smorgasbord of appetizers waited to tempt us.  I indulged, mostly in the caramel apple dip.  And then I asked my niece for the recipe.  And now I'm passing it along to you.  Just because. I know you will like it too!

  • 1 - 8 oz. package of cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup caramel topping (small jar sundae topping)
  • 1 package Skor bits (or chopped Skor bars)
  • 4-6 apples (Granny Smith or your favorite)
  1. Mix cream cheese and brown sugar until blended.
  2. Spread in pie plate or large glass serving plate.
  3. Chill for one hour.
  4. Spread caramel topping over cream cheese mixture.
  5. Sprinkle with Skor bits...sparingly or use the entire package!
  6. Slice apples and arrange around dip.

  1. ohhhh...yum! I've seen the dip where you combine cream cheese, vanilla, brown sugar and cinnamon and it's great but the caramel on top. oh my goodness!! over the top!

  2. What a decadent combination! Looks so yummy! Rhoda

  3. Oh, this is one of my FAVORITES - sooooo good (and hard to stop eating!)

  4. Ohhh .. Yum ! this would solve the problem of there being too much apple for too little caramel, wouldn't it ?? smile

  5. My daughter recently made this. It's hard not to just dip into it with a spoon - it is so yummy! A nice crisp apple and the caramel is a great combo.

  6. Looks like Christmas colors - would be great on a sweet buffet!

  7. This is one of my favourite appies too!!! Yours looks wonderful and quite appropriate for Hallowe'en too....

  8. That is so beautiful and simple to make...thanks Judy.

  9. oh. my. goodness.

  10. Looks soooo delicious, thanks for sharing it.

  11. Could someone please tell this Aussie girl what Skor bars are..... :)

    1. Wendy...Skor bars are a rich buttery toffee bar made by Hershey's in the USA and Canada. Skor bits are sold in bags like chocolate chips...bits of Skor bar to be used in baking. Substitute crushed toffee of your choice if Skor bars are not to be had:)

  12. This was quite a hit when I made it for church snacks on Sunday. I did add a dash of cinnamon to the cream cheese mixture. It also keeps very well as I made extra to have a home and have been getting a bit of it everyday to enjoy on an apple. Thank you so much. This is a recipe that I will use again and again.
