Bread for the Journey

How are you using the gifts that God gave you as an individual to share with others around you.  I've heard it said over and over again "I'm still trying to figure out what my gift is".  If that sounds familiar to you, you are not alone.  Looking back over my adult life I can relate to that phrase and often did not consider that bringing a casserole to a shut in or having a willingness to sign up on the pot luck list was worth a mention of a gifting.

I want to encourage you today to not underestimate the simple things that you enjoy doing for others.  The church that Anneliese and I attend has been creating Pulse Videos which are designed to encourage you with stories of people who are on "a mission" or purpose where they are.  It is their hope that the little video clips  will give others ideas on how they can be "on a mission"  where ever they live.

Hebrews 10:23 ESV  And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works...

Find joy today in small ways that you can bless others.

  8. The video was great and gave me joy knowing that the royalty of your cookbook goes to help feed the orphans and surrounding people in Russia. Thanks. I love checking what's on your blog everyday. JB

  11. This is such an inspiring post. Thank you -- not only for this post, but for being part of my life each and every day. You have all been a big part of increasing my walk with the Lord. Just the other day I was wondering about my gift -- since I have no idea what it is -- and here is your post!

Thank you for your faith-FUL work -- and your wonderful recipes! This morning, we had the cottage cheese pancakes with vanilla custard for breakfast, and I am making the coconut flour brownies for our evening treat. You have increased my faith, and the number of winning recipes in my repetoire.

    Blessings!

  12. I love the picture of us giving God what little we have, and He multiplies it. He can do more than we imagine through us, if we are just willing. Thanks for this reminder! Blessings on all of you!

  13. Yes, I concur, truly wonderful. You were both very well spoken too. I just made the connection to The Good Shepherd orphanage through this video - our church, Granville Chapel, supports that orphanage too.
Thanks to all of you gals. I often think about how your success must sometimes be annoying because it takes increasingly more of your 'discretionary' time. Thank you for relying on God's grace to see this through - His favour on you is evident.
