ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary! I love your blog, and have tried many of your recipes, so it's hard to pick one favourite. One that I keep coming back to is Judy's Mexican Bean Salad-especially at this time of year, it's great for potlucks and such a crowd pleaser.
ReplyDeleteThe chocolate and peanut butter eclair dessert is my favorite although I love all your posts and recipes!
ReplyDeletekajkbishop(at)charter(dot)net
Congrats to each of you, really enjoy your recipes, especially since they're so pantry friendly. Any recipe with pastry and sweet fruit is my favorite, lucky us ~ there's so many:) Happy Celebration!
ReplyDeleteI was introduced to your blog by my aunt, now I start every day looking at the new recipe of the day. I make monthly menus for our family, and thanks to your delicious recipes, it makes my menu planning a lot easier. We truly enjoyed the Lemon Stir Fry. Congratulations, and I look forward to many more yummy dishes.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! You ladies are absolutely fabulous! I love all your recipes but the one I go to most often so far is the Blueberry Lemon Muffins. I so appreciate the Bread for the Journey, each week; and I thank you for the food for our soul as well as our body.
ReplyDeletePraying you ladies will be richly blessed in return.
~Betty
Favorite recipe is taco soup! Made is many, many times and shared the recipe with many as well! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for being a blessings to me and so many others!
Erin
Love your recipes ladies!! I've been following for about 2 years. My hubby is celiac, so love that you have some gluten free recipes--favorites are gf cream puffs and the gf crumb coffee cake. Thanks!! Keep posting!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I have been following your blog since almost the beginning (I can't even remember how I found it) and I have loved every recipe that I've tried. I always get so inspired to cook good food for my family. I bought your cookbook a few weeks ago, but now i'm on bedrest with twin girls so no cooking for me. So both of my favorite recipes are from the blog for now:
ReplyDeleteBlack Forest Birthday Cake -- you posted this recipe three days before my husband's 30th birthday and it was his cake that year. It was a HUGE hit! :)
My other favorite recipe is that new carne asada and pollo asada recipe from Cinco de Mayo this year. We've made it a couple of times and it's soooo yummy! :)
Best wishes to you all and please keep posting recipes for us! (and yes, I hope I win the signed cookbook... I'll give the poor plain one away as a giftand cherish the signed on!)
As the son of a Mennonite girl who can cook I spent much of my growing up in the kitchen, watching, participating, eating. Now I'm far Mom and "home, but I'm never far from the kitchen and appreciate you site's recipes for drawing me back into some of my foods I grew up with. (I also really appreciate the gluten-free recipes.) My wife suggests your next book should be "Mennonite Girls can Cook, and They Teach Their Sons."
ReplyDeleteI've been gifted with a copy of your wonderful book, signed by one special lady, so I would like to try to win one for my Mom.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite recipe is the GF Rollkuchen. Just wish I could get my hands on the flours needed more easily.
It's hard to pick just one recipe (I'd have to go through a binder to find all of the MGCC recipes I've used), but I'll go with the one I'm trying next - Peach Kuchen.
ReplyDeleteBut even more than the recipes...each time I have friends and family over, I think about the hospitality - the blessing rather than impressing.
I've recently approached housework with the attitude of blessing my family, and no longer look at it as something akin to punishment.
Thank you for your positive messages.
kimrsch(at)yahoo(dot)com

I saw the anniversary announcement on Ellen's blog and had to come over to say 'Happy Anniversary'. As I said there, you are an inspiration.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite?.....I've made so many, especially the desserts, but I'd have to say that my family loved the Coconut Milk Cake.
I am 74 years of age. Love your site. Use it daily. Everything is so scrumptious. My favorite recipe is the baked oatmeal breakfast squares. They are so easy to make and so handy to have on hand and deliciious to boot. Congrats to you all! I would love to have this book so that I can share it with my family. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteSimply amazing...three years? Well, what a blessing that a love and appreciation of one's upbringing, cultural roots, family blessings and good cooking can bring so many people together. I think the testimony here and around the interest in good, honest home cooking is that there is a longing for focus around home and hearth...around commitment to family, and the old 'supper table'. So often in your recipe posts there is mention of family, memories of dearly departed mothers, or favorite aunt's recipes....it is heartwarming and reassuring...to know that these fundamental pillars of family life still exist. I know I first connected to find my mother's recipe of Paska. How many others can say the the same thing; thanks for bringing many people here to find 'bread for the journey'.
ReplyDeleteI am thrilled that I accidentally came across this site two years ago. I constantly try new recipes that you post, but my favorites are the ones I remember my Gram making for us when we were kids. The recipe that I classify as my favorite right now is the rollkuchen, the one that uses whipping cream. Just like Gram used to make. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful recipes! I check you site each and every morning!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I check for new recipes every morning and I wondered why I would need the book. I've now had the opportunity to peruse it at Lepp's and it's so much more than a cookbook! Everything felt so familiar as I paged through. It's just the way I grew up. I recently tried the Greek Burgers and received rave reviews. I never would have thought of those flavours in a burger. I would love a copy of the book! rtcomeau@telus.net
