Bread for the Journey

Find rest, O my soul, in God alone;
my hope comes from Him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation;
He is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
My salvation and my honor depend on God,
He is my mighty rock, my refuge.
Trust in Him at all times, O people,
pour out your hearts to Him,
for God is our refuge.

One thing God has spoken,
two things I have heard:
that You, O God, are strong
and that You, O Lord, are loving.

Psalm 62 : 5-8, 11,12a

I am thankful for words of hope scattered throughout these verses and I pray that today you are encouraged by them as well.  Rest in Him for He is our hope. Trust Him for He our salvation. Let us pour out our hearts to Him for He will provide. He is strong and loving - oh, the depth of the riches of all we have in Him!

  4. To add to the thoughts for today... In our morning service the pastor mentioned God's ultimate love and power through the cross and I had to think of this devotional. To think that the Psalm writer wrote these affirming words before Jesus came to die for us and be raised in power. These words are true!
