I also like to make a larger batch of the crumble mix and freeze some for a quick dessert another day. Sometimes I add slivered or sliced almonds.
Ingredients:
3 - 4 cups berries or chopped apples
(Granny Smith & Graffenstein apples are good)
1/4 cup margarine or butter
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup flour
3/4 cups rolled oats
Place fruit in a pie or Pyrex dish dish. Blend the rest of the ingredients with a pastry blender until all the butter is blended in and pastry is all crumbs. Sprinkle over fruit and bake at 350F about 30 min. Serve hot, with ice cream.

yummy!!! i think i might make this tonight!
ReplyDeleteNice presentation!!
ReplyDeleteI have tried this recipe too and always enjoy it with whatever fruits are in season. My favorite is apple or Saskatoon berries!
Anneliese this picture makes my mouth water. What a good hint to put some crumbs in the freezer. . I'm going to do that for sure. I also love the mixed berries for Berry Crumble.
ReplyDeleteI also like to make it in individual Creme Brulee dishes. . for a fancy dinner.
I like the individual creme brulee dishes idea! Now I have two reasons to get some. Does anyone have a good recipe for creme brulee?

ReplyDeleteI doubled the crumble and it turned out amazingly well!
Love it! Thanks for the recipe
If you like lemon, enhance the fruit with the juice of 1 lemon - it really brings out the flavour
