I also like to make a larger batch of the crumble mix (times it by four) and freeze it for a quick dessert another day. Most times I add slivered almonds or chopped pecans.
Ingredients:
- 3 - 4 cups berries or chopped apples (Granny Smith or Graffensteins are good)
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup flour
- 3/4 cups rolled oats
- Place fruit in a pie size baking dish.
- Blend the rest of the ingredients with a pastry blender until all the butter is blended in to make a crumb mix.
- Squeeze to make larger chunks as you sprinkle it over the fruit.
- Bake at 350 F about 30 min. Serve hot, with ice cream. Serves 4-6
yummy!!! i think i might make this tonight!
ReplyDeleteNice presentation!!
ReplyDeleteI have tried this recipe too and always enjoy it with whatever fruits are in season. My favorite is apple or Saskatoon berries!
Anneliese this picture makes my mouth water. What a good hint to put some crumbs in the freezer. . I'm going to do that for sure. I also love the mixed berries for Berry Crumble.
ReplyDeleteI also like to make it in individual Creme Brulee dishes. . for a fancy dinner.
I like the individual creme brulee dishes idea! Now I have two reasons to get some. Does anyone have a good recipe for creme brulee?

If you like lemon, enhance the fruit with the juice of 1 lemon - it really brings out the flavour
