True streuselkuchen comes out of Silesia, Poland and just has the crumbs/dough, not the addition of jam/fruit. It's more elegant, and not as sweet as platz. I patted it into a parchment paper lined cookie sheet 12" x17" and made pie fill using frozen sour cherries and it sure turned out good!
