(Dr. Oetker Sahnesteif or Whip cream stabilizer.) It takes the worry away about the whipping cream going watery. Give that a try. I've kept the leftover cake to serve another day several times and the topping is just as good. I usually put it in a cake keeper or some kind of plastic storage container.
I'm thinking because it is mixed with the pineapple/pudding mixture, it is somewhat stabilized.Bev Khttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01270938389792314932noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6454531829676162260.post-26952787186077383702015-09-18T06:28:34.461-07:002015-09-18T06:28:34.461-07:00My grandmother made a cake very similar to this. I find that sometimes whipped cream mixed with other things sometimes separates or goes watery when it sits for any length of time. Found this out the hard way when I made a Banoffee pie and topped with the whipped cream too soon and the whole thing went watery. I'm certain the whipped cream is much better. I usually add fresh berries and use lemon pudding.
~ingridIngrid_3Bshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13244727113979869203noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6454531829676162260.post-85779394642824229812008-12-22T23:24:00.000-08:002008-12-22T23:24:00.000-08:00No, you do not drain the pineapple. Be sure to whip the cream well(not to the Butter stage but just before :))Bev Khttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01270938389792314932noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6454531829676162260.post-30828109742307626462008-12-20T12:14:00.000-08:002008-12-20T12:14:00.000-08:00This does look yummy...but I again I have question...This does look yummy...but I again I have questions. Do you drain the pineapple before mixing it with the pudding and do you mix the pudding and pineapple together to make a pudding like consistency...?? Or does the pudding and pineapple remain like it looks in the bowl and then add to the whip cream, does this not make the icing a more "runny" texture..??

Thanks...KKathleenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05920826375552081937noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6454531829676162260.post-74883163574373836942008-12-19T21:30:00.000-08:002008-12-19T21:30:00.000-08:00Mmmm, that does sound light and delish.....too bad...Mmmm, that does sound light and delish.....too bad my oldest has allergies to pineapple. i'll have to save that one when she is out of town...charlotte mgcchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11048116678193513487noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6454531829676162260.post-88177293134995167312008-12-19T13:47:00.000-08:002008-12-19T13:47:00.000-08:00My mouth is watering!
