2 zucchini chopped into bite size pieces
2 yellow squash chopped into bite size pieces
2 tbsp. chili powder
1 tsp. each of salt, cumin, and dried oregano leaves
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. cayenne
salt and pepper to taste

Heat olive oil in large pot, add onion and celery and saute till onion is translucent. Add turkey and season with salt and pepper and cook through. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil and then lower the temperature to a simmer. Simmer till the vegetables are cooked through. Taste and add salt and pepper if needed.

  2. I have never put squash into chili, but it would give a nice flavour. Such a good comfort meal during these nippy days of winter.

  8. I really like the squash idea. Phil really does not like beans and I think he would like this one a lot better than what I usually make.

  9. The first time I had chicken or turkey chili was at an airport and it was so good ... I've enjoyed making it without a real recipe ... and your recipe gives me some more ideas of what to put in. It looks wonderful.
