Then use this recipe for the ultimate garlic spread, it is quick and simple, you will never buy one again.
Quick Garlic Spread
3/4 c. butter
1/4 c. mayonaise (don't use Miracle Whip it is too sweet)
I often use 1/2 butter 1/2 mayo
1/2 grated parmessan cheese
4 cloves garlic minced
3 tbsp. freshly chopped parsely
One large french bread loaf cut lengthwise, spread liberally on cut side and broi til brown and bubbly. Or wrap in foil and bake at 375 for 20 min. We like ours broiled. Enjoy!

Hey....who would have thought? Wow...great idea. Thanks Char...and garlic bread is SUCH a requested item in my home! Even using up buns, regular bread...you name it! Thanks...great recipe.
ReplyDeletewould this store well in the fridge? Sounds handy to have for day old buns with soup for lunch! Thanks for the recipe!
ReplyDeleteyes you can store this for a few days in the fridge, but i wouldn't store it too long. besides it would never last that long. i usually only make enough to use right away. the amounts are easily changed.
ReplyDeleteThis looks so good! We rarely eat anything with garlic but I could go easy on the garlic and it still would be good, right?
ReplyDeleteWe love garlic bread. I will try this recipe soon. Kathy
ReplyDeleteI would agree that you'd never want to buy one again!
ReplyDeleteWe live in Houston and have been without power for 10 long days!!! Monday we got our electricity back...praise the Lord....but several of our neighbors did not. So I fixed a big casserole of chicken spaghetti, salad, and bread with this spread for two of the families without power. Everyone loved it all including the bread. I really liked it and will use this recipe often. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this! It looks like it would go wonderful, with my Baked Spaghetti and a Salad on the side. I'm saving this one, and will hopefully be able to give feedback later.
Thanks!
