First I burned my $7.00 worth of hazelnuts when I was roasting them as the recipe said ! The recipe said roast them for 8-10 minutes.. I checked at 6 minutes and they were already black.
Then, I realized I didn't have enough chocolate squares, was out of Vanilla extract, and my raspberry jam jar was almost empty.
Then I realized the original recipe had an obvious mistake.
Well -- seeing I had already gone too far to ditch the cake idea .. I just decided to wing it !!
And out came a delicious gluten-free torte that can be dressed up or down according to your fancy. If the recipe were doubled it could be put together with filling or whipped cream and decorated any-way you chose !
Best of all it is gluten-free without tasting gluten-free !
(there is a lesson here - even when we make mistakes , and life throws us a curve, and we are tempted to give up --DON'T - you never know what can come out of seeming disaster! God is an amazing Chef in the kitchen of life! )
